Now we are going to see an interesting topic,ie Data Encryption. In this cyber world it is very important to assure the security of our confidential data as we know already our networks are the target of hackers, as there are plenty of hacking tools avaialable in the internet. so inorder to avoid the hacking of our confidential datas from our network,it should be masked or encrypted here we are explaining about two types of Data Encryption.

  1. Cryptography
  2. Steganography

Cryptography

Cryptography is the practice and study of techniques for secure communication in the presence of third parties . The example for a type of cryptography is Substitution Cryptography.

A Substitution Cryptography is a method of encoding by which units of plaintext are replaced with a code letter. so that it cannot be decoded by an hacker , only the genuine reciever can decode the message..this is not used in now a days as of less secure..it is the traditional way of Data Encryption

Steganography

Steganography is the art and science of writing hidden messages in such a way that no one, apart from the sender and intended recipient, suspects the existence of the message. Steganography includes the concealment of information within computer files. In digital steganography, electronic communications may include steganographic coding inside of a transport layer, such as a document file, image file, program or protocol..The advantage of steganography over cryptography is that messages do not attract attention to themselves..This method of Data Encryption is the most widely technique used now a days
